New eye-catcher in Manhattan
After the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, many of the historic buildings in the South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan had to be restored. The new appearance of Pier 17, which has established itself as one of New York's most popular event locations since its opening in 2018, is also spectacular. The new building makes an impressive statement with its combination of glass, titanium zinc and wood. The immediate proximity to the water and harbour area tipped the scales in favour of RHEINZINK's durable and resistant material, as well as the colour scheme in RHEINZINK prePatina blue-grey and slate-grey. The attractive mix of materials and, in particular, the shimmering colour and lively texture of the titanium zinc panels, which adorn the façade in both large diamond and corrugated profile systems, invite one to rediscover the building again and again.
